80% Growth Revealed For Top 100 Social Enterprises

What recession? You could be forgiven for asking that question if you attended the social enterprise awards last night which recognised the top one hundred highest growth social businesses. The headline statistic is an exceptional average annual growth of almost 80 per cent for the one hundred organisations that comprise the RBS SE100 Index. Three social enterprises - Mow & Grow of Lowestoft, FRC Group of Liverpool and Create Foundation CIC of Leeds - picked up the big awards of Growth Champion, Impact Champion and Trailblazing Newcomer, respectively. The SE100 Index measures organisations based on three sets of information: market segment, turnover and social impact. Handing out the awards last night were Nick Hurd, Minister for Civil Society and Ian Cowie, CEO, Business and Commercial Banking, at RBS. Minister Nick Hurd commented on the “…phenomenal growth, which will boost confidence in the sector and open doors to private finance”.
