Female Empowerment Through Sport

Since the United States law ‘Title IX’ was passed in 1972 ensuring gender equality in schools, female participation in college athletics has grown significantly. So too has women’s general level of life success. Rather than being mere serendipity or correlation, two independent economic studies reveal that participating in school sports directly results in achievement later in life, through its positive effect on education, employment and health. At TSIC we strongly believe in gender equality: for this reason we are currently consulting pro bono for UNIFEM-UK, the UK branch of the United Nations Development Fund for Women.
