New research from the Centre for Charitable Giving and Philanthropy suggests that wealthy donors give more money to charity in February and March than at any other time of the year. The report, ‘Seasonal Patterns in Household Giving in the UK’, is based on figures from the National Expenditure and Food Survey and suggests that wealthy donors may be inclined to give more at this time as the end of the financial year approaches. In stark contrast the report also reveals those from low income households are more likely to give money towards the end of the year, especially over the Christmas period.
