How Will The Arts Fare Under A Conservative Government?

Today the Conservatives launched their arts manifesto, which according to Jeremy Hunt, the Shadow Culture Secretary, aims to ‘challenge the assumption that Labour is good for the arts and the Tories are good for business’. In an interview with The Guardian, Hunt professes his confidence in the Tories ability to increase the amount of money being invested in the arts by increasing the level of lottery funding and voluntary contributions. However Ben Bradshaw, the current Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport has equally claimed that arts funding is safer under Labour.
