New ‘Giving While Living’ Trend Amongst The World’s Richest

According to the 2010 World Wealth Report more of the world’s richest philanthropists are choosing to donate their cash to good causes during their lifetimes. This new ‘giving while living trend’ has shown a rise in demand for professional advice from philanthropic advisors, as donors become increasingly concerned with measuring the social impact of their gift. A similar report by Atlantic Philanthropies includes profiles of 11 philanthropists who are donating significant sums during their lifetimes. One of those profiled, Chuck Feeney, founder of Atlantic Philanthropies has already donated £790 million to irish causes alone and hopes in this report to encourage others to follow suit.
