New Research On How Donors Select Charities To Support

A new paper by Beth Breeze from the Centre for Charitable Giving and Philanthropy (CGAP) has been released today exploring the decision making process which drives individual giving. Based on a sample of 60 interviewees from different income groups and geographic locations, the report concluded that donation decisions are influenced more by the donor’s personal relationships, hobbies and biographical experiences rather than through a methodical evaluation of the charity. The report was launched at the annual CGAP conference today in front of more than a hundred attendees from across the third sector.

An electronic copy of the report will be made available in a few weeks time. In the meanwhile, please refer to the press release issued by the University of Kent.
