A recent conference by the Guardian has heard that governments should be encouraging councils to commission social enterprises to do more of their work. Breaking with tradition, and getting more social enterprises involved with the public sector will mean not only a more financially friendly alternative, but one that offers proven efficiency, innovation and social and environmental value.
