Welcoming TSIC’s new ASEAN Director, Jason Yip

Tell us a bit about yourself

“I am an old uncle, but hopefully with a young mind.

The long professional journey behind me brought me from the banking world to humanitarian field operations, and from regional government affairs to domestic policy work on youth matters. Throughout my professional journey, I have been amazed by the number of bright and motivated minds making an impact to turn our society into a better place. Everyone has been working hard and making good achievements, but our society is still dragging behind with some deeply rooted issues. Why? My humble instinct tells me that perhaps most of us are mainly working hard in our own comfortable spheres. To tackle the next miles of challenges, we need to connect the dots and share expertise across sectors. I am looking forward to exploring these challenges together with the great team at TSIC.”

Why did you choose to work with TSIC?

“Traditional wisdom told me ‘Birds of a feather flock together’.

I have always been looking for a group of people who are passionate about putting impact quality before anything else. I have met a few TSIC colleagues in London and Hong Kong and I am impressed by their passion for good social impact, everyone knows the importance of financial resources, but at TSIC they do not want to compromise the quality of their project impact and I respect that a lot.

I am very much looking forward to working with bright and energetic minds, and the possibility to have better solutions for old issues with more dynamic discussions and insights within the wider communities.”

What are you most looking forward to?

“Create – To create good solutions / advice for our partners

Meet – To meet great colleagues and people

Work – To work together to bring more positive impact to our society”
