Welcoming TSIC’s new Consultant (On Purpose), Katie Pitts

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I’ve continuously sought roles that align with my passion for sustainable development and social impact which is also driven from the perspective of being a parent, as I will never give up on the idea of a better world for my child and all children!

‌From studying Critical Development Studies and Geography, founding Sustenance Zero Waste Grocery’s (a plastic free food shop) to working with community interest companies like ClearCommunityWeb CIC and All Aboard Club CIC, my career has been driven by a desire to foster inclusive, sustainable communities.

Why did you choose to work with TSIC?

My decision to join TSIC through the On Purpose programme was motivated by a desire to integrate my skills with TSIC’s commitment to creating profound social impact. I’ve been consistently impressed by TSICs dedication to the quality and depth of their impact. Their approach aligns with my belief that the best solutions come from deep understanding and innovative, cross-sector collaboration in a smaller company with global reach, which I find exciting.

What are you most looking forward to?

I’m most looking forward to three key aspects:

  1. Innovation: I am eager to contribute to and learn from TSIC’s innovative approaches to tackling social challenges.
  2. Collaboration: I anticipate working alongside TSIC’s diverse team of passionate professionals. The opportunity to engage with experts from various fields will enhance my own understanding and contribute to richer, more comprehensive interventions.
  3. Impact: Finally, I am excited to see the real-world impact of our collaborative projects. The chance to be part of transformative initiatives that genuinely improve people’s lives and environment is incredibly motivating.
