Sarah – Jane Danchie is leading TSIC’s Ghana country program and supporting the Managing Director to establish TSIC’s work in Africa and TSIC’s global agenda on diversity and inclusion.

Sarah brings 15 years of experience on sustainable development issues working at the international, regional and community level with several clients such as governments, international companies and international philanthropic organizations mainly operating across about 20 African countries. An overview of her skills and experience includes policy analysis, strategy design, business and industry environment analysis and reform, impact measurement and public and private sector policy design and implementation.

Sarah began her career working with the Commonwealth, working on member countries in almost every region in the world – Africa, Asia, Europe, the Pacific, Americas and especially small and vulnerable economies in the Caribbean. She researched on various issues such as challenges of emerging economies in the international trade arena, climate change, urban development and international debt.

Before joining TSIC she was working with the African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET), a pan African economic policy institution based in Ghana. She managed ACET’s Extractives program which focused on research and advisory on improving local and socio- economic impacts of mining, oil and gas projects in a range of African countries. She also managed research and advisory projects on China-Africa investments, infrastructure, agriculture, international trade, national planning and public financial management.

Sarah supports initiatives which promote girls and women in STEM education and related careers. She also has a passion for youth and gender empowerment programs and facilitating the transition from school to work.

Sarah holds an MSc and BSc both majoring in Economics from the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) and Queen Mary College respectively.
