Sinethemba Mafanya works at the intersection of impact investing, inclusive finance, and climate-aligned capital across global emerging markets, with predominant focus on sub-Saharan Africa. He is Principal of AUA Advisory, an independent investment advisory practice, and currently mobilises and facilitates investments for Sida and FCDO-backed fund investees across blended finance, private debt and private equity.

His decade of capital deployment spans 78 transactions and $912M across 16 countries, including MSME neobanks, regulated tier-2 banks digitising for agent banking, smallholder farmer credit structures, and nature-based climate solutions. He has held Investment Committee seats across sub-Saharan African and Asian impact platforms. He holds an EMBA from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and is a 2018 Mandela Washington Fellow.

Sinethemba collaborates with TSIC on investment mobilisation, impact-finance research and thought leadership, most recently co-authoring ‘The clean vs dirty divide in climate finance’ (BusinessGreen, June 2026) with Bonnie Chiu.
